A Liberal government will give breathing room to businesses hit by tariffs

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, August 27, 2026 – Patrice Léger Bourgoin, Quebec Liberal Party candidate in Saint-Jean, supports his party's commitment to give breathing room to businesses hit by tariffs.

A Liberal government will put in place:

• A temporary holiday on Health Services Fund (FSS) contributions for businesses directly affected by tariffs;
• The conversion of 25% of aid intended for eligible SMEs into direct non-repayable assistance.

"Local businesses are absorbing a tariff war they didn't start. Giving them breathing room now means preserving jobs and know-how in Saint-Jean," says Patrice Léger Bourgoin.
