The Quebec Liberal Party wants to invest an additional $60M per year as a first step toward zero homelessness

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, September 4, 2026 – Patrice Léger Bourgoin, Quebec Liberal Party candidate in Saint-Jean, supports his party's commitment to invest an additional $60M per year as a first step toward zero homelessness.

A Liberal government commits to:

• Supporting young people leaving youth centres by providing each of them with a designated support worker, a transition plan and access to mental health services;
• Preventing evictions that lead to the street;
• Enhancing the Rent Supplement Program;
• Increasing funding for homelessness resources;
• Improving mental health services for people experiencing homelessness or addiction, by supporting local initiatives and projects for people who are homeless or at risk and living with mental health issues;
• Making PRISM/PRISMD program funding permanent and gradually increasing the number of service points according to regional needs;
• Increasing transitional housing and support services;
• Holding a national summit on homelessness.

"Homelessness is no longer confined to the big cities — our community organizations in Saint-Jean see it every day. This plan finally gives them predictable means to act early," says Patrice Léger Bourgoin.
