The Quebec Liberal Party wants to add 1,000 specialized resources in our schools

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, September 9, 2026 – Patrice Léger Bourgoin, Quebec Liberal Party candidate in Saint-Jean, welcomes the first commitment of the Liberal platform: adding 1,000 specialized resources to Quebec schools and launching a national summit on education.

The summit will address, among other things:

Educational success as the priority: academic achievement, pathways to graduation, the different streams of qualification, the dropout phenomenon among boys, inclusion in the classroom, equity, social diversity and equal opportunity;
School staff for our young people: attracting people to the various professions, continuing education, workplace integration, working conditions for all staff and, above all, retention;
The role of the school and the education system: mastery of French, course content, the place of culture in our schools, adapting to the digital world — literacy, numeracy and artificial intelligence — and the division of responsibilities among the State, families, staff, communities and partners;
The school as a living environment: youth mental health, school climate, the rise in violence, and collaboration between schools and the health, social services, cultural and community sectors;
Education for all: promoting vocational and technical training, continuing education, retraining and returning to school, higher education, research and the particular needs of the regions;
School funding: resource allocation, infrastructure, access to services and the gaps between territories and institutions.
